Mercedes has practiced family law for nearly 20 years and is eager to assist you with all your family legal issues. She received her law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law after completing her undergraduate degree at Florida International University. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mercedes worked as a paralegal in a prominent law firm in Miami. Once licensed, her transition to the Courtroom was seamless. She began practicing family law, gaining extensive litigation experience in Miami-Dade County and Broward County.
Mercedes was born in Cuba and her family eventually settled in Miami. She and her family relocated to Jacksonville in 2016. Mercedes has been continuously practicing family law in Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Nassau and several adjacent counties focusing on her clients’ best outcomes. Mercedes is fluent in spoken and written Spanish and is dedicated to ensuring the community, including the Hispanic community has extraordinary representation.
Mercedes is a member of numerous associations, including the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, a current Board member of the Jacksonville Women’s Lawyers Association, (JWLA), Jacksonville Bar Association (JBA), and the Florida Family Law American Inns of Court (FFLAIC). She is engaged and is an advocate for the local legal community to ensure access to justice is afforded to all.
Mercedes is married and enjoys spending time with her Husband, her 10-year-old daughter and her dogs. Mercedes enjoys traveling, hiking, and running. She has made Jacksonville her home and is looking forward to continuing to serve her community.
